Empowering Young Athletes

Omrub's Commitment to Sporting Excellence

At Omrub, we take immense pride in supporting and nurturing talent of all ages and abilities across various sports disciplines. These athletes trust Omrub for pain and injury management, muscle preparation, and recovery.

We have previously introduced our experienced champion Omrub Ambassadors (DJ Forbes, Susan Devoy, and Fiona Dowling), but did you know we also have an ongoing commitment to youth sports? We thought it was time to highlight some of the young athletes that we support in different ways:

Squash Stars: Elijah Thomas and Mason Smales

Now based in England, these two young players compete on the World Professional Squash circuit. Elijah is currently ranked #3 in New Zealand, while Mason is ranked #1 in Samoa. Both players are based in England where they train and compete in European leagues, preparing for matches on the World PSA tour.

Powerlifting Prodigy: Isyss Schuster

Isyss Schuster is a 16-year-old weightlifting sensation! He currently holds the NZ youth clean and jerk record at 147kg for the 102kg category. At the recent Oceania Champs, he won gold in the youth 102 kg+ category, broke the NZ record, and set a new one at 162kg for clean and jerk. Impressive stuff - we wish Isyss all the best at the World Youth Champs in Peru this May!

League sensations: Kayliss Fatialofa, Eli Tuli, and Andrew Nansen

Representing the Junior Age Group Warriors, Kayliss Fatialofa, Eli Tuli, and Andrew Nansen exhibit serious talent, passion and sportsmanship. We always appreciate their shout-outs to Omrub on Instagram, too. Cheers, boys!

Champion Waka Ama Paddlers

The Kirikiriroa-based WDBA J19 Girls team of Quartz Neho, Navaeh Tauroa, Paula Kerepa-Broughton, Sahri Tichborne, Okeroa Irwin, and Aka Moeke are highly talented waka ama paddlers who recently approached Omrub for help in preparing for the 2024 IVF Va'a World Sprint Championships in Hawaii. We can't wait for them to share their journey with us!

Field Hockey Phenom: Leah Hodges

Leah Hodges plays for the U21 Junior Black Sticks, and in 2023, Omrub helped her and her teammates prepare for and compete in their world tournament. Their physio loved using Omrub, too!

New Zealand Fiji School Rugby 7's Team

We sponsor a player during the annual Global Youth Sevens Tournament held in New Zealand. The NZ Fiji Schools Rugby Sevens is a fantastic pathway for NZ-based Fijian school boys and girls to showcase their talent on the Oceania stage.
